KH-TIPA Triisopropanolamine cement grinding aids

Triisopropanolamine (TIPA), an alkanolamine compound with the formula C₉H₂₁NO₃ and CAS No. 122-20-3, appears as a transparent to pale yellow liquid or white solid (melting point 46-52℃, density ~1.1 g/cm³). It is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether, synthesized via the reaction of propylene oxide with ammonia.

Specification:

TIPA Content: ≥98.0%

MIPA and DIPA Content: ≤2.0%

Water Content:≤0.5 %

Appearance:White to brown solid

Structure Formula:C9H21NO3

Melocular Weight:191.27

Application:

1.Cement Grinding Aid

Acts as a high-efficiency grinding aid component, optimizing cement particle gradation and fluidity. With a dosage of 0.001%-0.2%, it effectively prevents flash set during cement production.

Significantly enhances late-stage compressive strength of cement by 3-12 MPa (promoting ferrite hydration) and improves mill output, reducing energy consumption in cement manufacturing.

2. Lubricant & Metal Processing

Used as an antioxidant in lubricating oils, inhibiting oil oxidation and extending the service life of lubricants.

Acts as a metal surface treatment agent, aiding in corrosion resistance and improving the compatibility of lubricants with metal substrates.

3. Chemical Synthesis & Polymer Industry

Serves as a PU chain extender and polyurethane curing agent, improving the mechanical properties and durability of polyurethane products.

Functions as a dispersant for titanium dioxide, enhancing the dispersion stability of TiOin coatings, plastics, and inks.

4. Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Industry

Serves as a raw material in pharmaceutical synthesis, supporting the production of certain drugs and pharmaceutical intermediates.

Functions as an emulsifier and stabilizer in cosmetics, improving the texture and shelf life of cosmetic formulations.

5. Coating & Printing Industry

Acts as a neutralizer in water-based coatings, effectively neutralizing fatty acids or sulfonic acid-type surfactants to adjust system pH and enhance coating stability.

Used as a solvent in developer solutions for printing and imaging processes, ensuring uniform development and clear image quality.

Packing

Packed in drum, net weight 215kg, ISO tank and IBC are available.

TIPA with different concentrations are provided as required. Generally, TIPA 85.0% and TIPA 90.0% are available.

Storage

Store in a cool and dry place, prevent from sunshine and rain. Shelf life is one year, and after then it could still be available once passed the chemical test.

Safety & Toxicity

Generally present no toxicity, alkalescence but do not irritate skin. It should be prevented from spilling into the eyes while handling.

High flashing point. combustible, non-explosive. Extinguishing media: foam, dry powder, water and so on.
