Hainan Provincial Museum, the only comprehensive and modernized museum in Hainan Province, is located at No. 68 Guoxing Avenue, Haikou City, east of the Provincial Culture Park. The museum was opened on November 15, 2008 . Museum project covers an area of more than 60 acres, the first phase of the project covers an area of about 18,000 square meters, mainly including display halls, cultural relics storage, technical rooms, service facilities, office buildings. Is planning and designing the second phase of the construction area of about 7,000 square meters, will rely on the "Huaguang Reef I" shipwreck protection and restoration and shipwrecks in the water nearly 10,000 pieces of porcelain, focusing on display and the history of the South China Sea, the maritime silk road, geopolitics and marine biological and mineral resources and other aspects of the cultural relics and specimens.
